There is a big push by Irish government to collaborate with industry at in Tyndall. I have seen projects with companies increasing. The government is giving incentive to industry to setup in Ireland as well. So both this effort I think are paying of.

The government is offering tax incentives to companies that wish to set up here. Along with this, the education authorities have been trying to increase the number of PhD graduates so they can help with these new start ups. So this formula should create a new science hub right here in Ireland.
